Tried this Chip Shop twice while in Bristol visiting my brother. Pensioner portion and prices good Lovely cod. Would recommend My two dogs enjoyed the sausage !
Give the new owners a go. The old chippy that was here was in decline for many years. I had stopped going because it had got so bad. Thought I would give the new owners a go. Glad I did. Just ordered small chips for 2. Piping hot, tasted fantastic. Will try the fish next time, or maybe halloumi ;-) Friendly staff (maybe the new owners?) Great to have this fantastic community asset back!
Can never go wrong ordering from this place. The portion sizes are generous and its definitely value for money. The service was swift and the staff were exceptionally friendly.
I’ll start with some context.. I’ve not loved this place. However tonight, walking home from the pub (to watch Eng v Arg) we stopped for a large chips. They were so much better than they used to be. Change of oil? Potato? Chef? I don’t know but delicious (in a sandwich, with butter, to sober up for the rugby) - thanks guys.. higher price (4 large chips, enough for 2-3 IMHO) better product - lovely result! (Half time in the rugby so we will see). Ps it’s a chip shop, the ‘atmosphere’ question seemed a bit irrelevant.

Friendly guys, great food and nice portion sizes. My go to after trying many others! Edit: just to add that the food is SUPERB each and every time! I've tried many others such as Bishopston, Jolly Fryer, Catch 22 etc and I have to say that these guys trump them all. Not too bad on prices either (unlike some of the above) People throw the phrase 'best fish & chips in Bristol' around quite easily, but I seriously think that applies here. Give it a try!

One of the best, if not the best, fish and chips takeaway in Bristol. Chips were crispy and cooked to perfection, and the cod was no different. The chips proportion was fantastic. It's one of the best bargains. Tasted absolutely delicious, couldn't ask for anything better. Also the staff was incredible and so lovely to talk with. So kind and respectful and patient with me. I couldn't recommend this shop enough. Absolute 10/10. Would definitely go again.
